| Why? I used to like it quite a lot, now I'm sort of indifferent about it, as it almost always happens with books I've had to dissect for school.
It wasn't that bad. | |

| i've always disliked books that they force us to read and then, to use your term delphine, "dissect" it. can't remember reading a single school-assigned book that i liked.
well, 8th grade's "Animal Farm" was okay...

| Yea I hated this book too. I know it's good to learn about war and all of that... but I haven't built up my courage that much yet. That book was just so vivid. I mean I felt so bad for the soldiers and gah. It was just an annoying assignment. | |

| That's what books are for! They should make you feel.
I'm seriously just going all "FJlsiejfj hate?!? Is it that extreme?? How could-it's not-it's good, I mean, I liked it a lot-but hate?? It wasn't bad at all! It's like a contemporary LotR without fantasy!"
What? It was vivid so you hate it?

| *Sigh* well I don't like how everyone was dying so painfully. I mean I know that's a fact about wars but I mean I really never read those type of books so it hit me hard. | |

| to me thers up to a point where tragic things stop being tragic to me and more of just redundant and annoying like "oh boo-hoo...not really" it gets tiresome morning after awhile. and i agree with u on the whole book disecting thing it just makes me hate it even more. its like when some guys see their wives give birth and can't look at their women the same way ever again its a pity really one of the many reasons why i dont want children | |

| The death is supposed to get redundant. You're traveling in the mind of Paul, who, by the end, was completely used to the death.
And it wouldn't be a war novel without death.
I find it interesting that you're saying it just got dull and redundant at the constant death, and Ha is saying the constant death was just too painful. It hit her too hard and didn't hit you at all.
And uh...I don't think it's quite like that...I think it's just that you have to re-read parts again and again and do so much work on it. It's not because looking at it again makes you realize it's gross.
Can't you just keep your husband/impregnator outside of the delivery room...?

| yea u can, but u know how some people want "home videos" and stuff (gods knows why)or it can be a whole "being there emotionally" and stuff thing like "dammit this is half yours too and scince u cant take half the pain for me then at least stand there and watch it!" kinda thing
yea me and ha are cool like that we balance each others extremes

| I don't really like any of the characters. "/ But yeah most appealing would be Kropp I guess, since I had the extended project on him. | |

| Kropp is awesome isn't he? I hope he doesn't off himself because of his missing leg. That'd be sad.
Kropp Fanfiction!
Kropp sat dejectedly on a bench watching people move freely on two legs. He considered offing himself, then and there, but then a sudden thought occured to him, "I'm made of win! I cannot die! Hah!" and he was resolved to find Hogwarts and get his leg grown back.
The end. | |
