| Like I said during school this is for the people who forget to save their hw on a flashdrive or to their e-mail this would be the place for you to place your hw, hmm maybe you can even post up hw that you want us to edit (not guaranteeing that we will actually do that... but hey try we may be in a good mood someday) so yeah... I'll delete your hw or you can after your question is answered or when you finished printing it out or something like that okay? Later you guys! | |

| ...ANYWAYS... about the character chart in the assignment handout: are we supposed to fill out ALL the blocks? the chart has 3 blocks by 5 blocks (15 blocks altogether). The 1st row of blocks looks a little like this: my question: are we supposed to fill out the left column too? | |

Gov't homework:
Oct. 5 assignment, due Oct. 10
Drawing on the five articles in the China packet, and the class discussion of those articles, write a short essay (c. 300 words) that responds to the following question:
A generation ago, in 1979, China opened up its economy to private enterprise, foreign investment, and international trade, kicking off a tremendous economic boom, which is likely to give China the largest economy in the world in the near future. At the same time, China has resisted liberalization of its communist party controlled political system, thus giving the world a new hybrid – of free market economics and dictatorial communist politics. What, in your view, is the likelihood that this hybrid system can continue indefinitely in China? Why? In particular, what evidence would you cite to suggest that it is likely to be successful and stable, or that it is likely to run into major problems and be unstable? | |
